About Us

This web site is dedicated to the wonderful fifties, sixties, and even the seventies. On this site you will find virtual tours along Route 66, toys and collectable's from the 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's. Fine Silver Jewelry, Photography, and just plain fun stuff.

The name Uranium Cafe was inspired by the cafe of the same name located in Grants, New Mexico. An old 50’s restaurant that was once opened in the town of Grants, New Mexico. Grants were very famous for uranium mining, but most of the mines are now closed. There is talk that uranium mining will be resurrected again in Grants. Time will tell.

The Colors used in the graphics and some fonts in UraniumCafe.com, are actual color samples from Images I took of Fiesta Ware of the 40's and 50's. Uranium was used in the orange red glaze on most of the pottery of that era.

Here is a sampling of what you will find.

Studio UC:
Fine Silver Jewelry by Carrie Benvenuti. Each piece is hand sculpted for that truly one of a kind work of art that you'll treasure for a lifetime.
In a world of over processing and automation most jewelry looks like it comes from the same factory, not these. Each one comes with a
certificate of authenticity that will trace the piece back to the manufacture date (month & year), as well as the location at the time of production.

Gallery:
Spectacular photography images from Central New Mexico, and surrounding areas. Plus images from the Southwest.
Included are pictures of friends and acquaintances I had the pleasure to know, meet and work with.
Plus past shows we've done, renaissance festivals, art shows, etc.

Nostalgia:
In our Nostalgia area plastic models from the 60's and 70's. Aurora, Monogram, will bring back memories. These were not purchased from ebay or other collectors but from by own childhood. Most are for sale, some are not or have been already sold but still fun to look at.

Links:
You will find Links to some swell web sites and even some friends.
