Having worked with polymer clay the switch to Metal Clay just felt like a natural progression.

The inspiration for the Double Calla Lily pendant came from a trip to Santa Fe to a Jackalope Store. It was a couple days before the class, and I didn’t really know what to make or what to expect. While browsing through the unglazed fired earthen pottery, an elderly woman was sitting on a bench working on a piece of pottery like the ones I was looking at. She called me over and placed an unfired sculpture that fit in my hand, and said “this is for you”. It was a double calla lily – it was like Devine intervention. I studied the shape a design over the next few days – and the pendant is the result of that chance encounter.

What is Jackalope – it is a chain of stores that are part garden and part home decorating center.
